25 October 2016 — Eastern ski season set to begin at noon today at Killington, passholders only, open to the general public tomorrow morning at 9 AM. A quick look at the live cameras shows that it might be delayed a bit, nobody moving yet and the guns are still hammering on the North Ridge. Update 1:00 PM: Killington open on the North Ridge!…more Vermont news, Haystack Mountain, The Brattleboro Reformer reports that the Vermont DEC wants more info on The Hermitage Club’s Act 250 master plan permit application. Hermitage Club currently building some 500 residential units, a parking garage, and a luxury hotel at the site…looks like a California attorney named Jeff Katofsky is going to get clear title to long shuttered Sugar Loaf Resort on the shores of Lake Michigan — not to be confused with Sugarloaf, Maine. Katofsky sez he has no specific plans for the resort, which he got as the result of a lawsuit against the former owner, Remo Polselli. At one time Sugar Loaf was a very popular ski area, and said to be the largest employer in Leelanau County, Michigan…meanwhile temps are soaring in Colorado, Arapahoe Basin is open but Loveland and Keystone snowmakers feeling a bit frustrated by highs of 60 degrees yesterday.
