German star Felix Neureuther bows out with 13 career wins, 47 podiums, and a handful of World Championship medals. He was a great slalom skier who had the misfortune of timing his career with Marcel Hirscher — Felix finished second in the slalom discipline three times. Hirscher, meanwhile, won the mens overall again. That’s his 8th straight, which is kind of hard to imagine. He also took the slalom and GS globes, tallying 9 wins along the way. Shiffrin garnered 17 wins this season, which beat Vreni Schneider‘s 30-year-old record of 14 wins in a season, set back in 1988-89. On the ladies’ side, Swedish techie Frida Hansdotter announced her retirement, she had 4 victories, 35 podiums, and grabbed Olympic gold (photo above) along the way. Hansdotter was still quite competitive, notching 8th place in the overall this season.
