Photo above re. news out of Colorado, the venerable Granby Ranch Ski Resort is up for sale. The Cipriani family purchased the resort on Sept. 28, 1995 and feel it is time to move on; they’re selling the ski resort, the golf course, assorted lodging buildings totalling some 5,000 acres. The asking price has not yet been made public…Loon Mountain NH spinning the gondy this morning, they’ll be adding the East Basin chair tomorrow…Gore NY suddenly getting in the game, they’re gonna run the express quad and the beginner conveyor lift tomorrow and Sunday. They’ll shut down Monday until next Friday the 24th when they’ll ramp up for regular season operations both alpine and nordic. ORDA management looking forward to showing off the new Saddle Lodge, they say it’s ready and will be open tomorrow. Gotta be an improvement; the old one was ghastly…sister resort Whiteface also opening tomorrow, but unlike Gore the announcement sez they’re opening for the season…Penny’s Camelback Resort announced that Brian Czarnecki has been promoted to the role of chief operating officer; he’s been the resort’s vice president of sales and marketing. Congrats Brian and we wish you every success…New England Ski Industry website reports that the old High Pond Ski Area, a lost area north of Rutland VT, is being rebuilt with a t-bar lift. Unknown if this will be a public venue…
